Runna alternative
A race plan without the yearly bill.
Runna charges $119.99 a year for an app that keeps adapting while you stay subscribed. RacePlan AI charges $19 for one race, or $39 once if you want to build another plan whenever the next start line shows up.
What you are actually buying
Both products end in a week of running. The difference is the contract. A subscription makes sense if you want a coach checking in, a library of strength sessions, and a plan that reshuffles itself every Monday. A one-time plan makes sense if you already know the race, you want the paces written down, and you do not want another renewal email in twelve months.
RacePlan AI asks for the race distance, the date, a recent result, how many days you can run, your current mileage, and which day the long run belongs on. The structure is calculated: mileage rises slowly, every few weeks backs off, the long run grows toward a cap for that distance, and the last weeks taper. Target paces come from your recent race, not from a paragraph the model invented. The model writes the short coaching note on each day.

When this is the wrong tool
If you want someone to rewrite Tuesday because your calf is cranky, this is not that product. There is no chat and no daily check-in. Lifetime lets you rebuild the remaining weeks from today if you missed a block. It does not watch your watch. If you are injured, pregnant, or new to exercise, talk to a professional before you follow any of it. The disclaimer is on every plan for that reason.
What the free preview shows
You get the phase map, the peak mileage, the predicted finish, and week 1 in full, including paces. The other weeks are locked on the server. Paying $19 unlocks that generated plan, the pace chart, a calendar file, a CSV, and a print view you can save as a PDF. Paying $39 unlocks plans you generate later, on any distance, and the rebuild.
Questions people ask before they leave Runna
RacePlan AI is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a coach or clinician. Running and racing involve a risk of injury. Talk with a physician or qualified professional before you start, especially if you are new to running, returning from injury, pregnant, or managing a health condition.
